Volunteers to help clean up Cincinnati highway exits
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Over 125 volunteers will be on the highway picking up litter on Saturday at several of Cincinnati’s dirtiest entrance and exit ramps.
Keep Cincinnati Beautiful (KCB) and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) have teamed up once again to host the 2013 State Roadway Cleanup with the goal of collecting trash and debris from littered hot spots around the city, including areas along I-75 and I-71.
Volunteers will also be weeding, edging, and mulching a few of KCB’s Daffodils & Daylilies flower beds, including the ones at the Paddock Road entrance and exit to I-75. Clean greenspace along the highway not only leaves a good impression on visitors and businesses, but beautified areas deter littering and increase economic development.
Registration begins at 10:30am on Saturday, April 6 at the Ohio Department of Transportation parking lot. Crews will be out on the roads cleaning from 11am - 2pm.
