Opening for Contemporary Impressionism exhibit at Hyde Park gallery | Arts & Culture

HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - Miller Gallery is presenting an exhibition of Contemporary Impressionism by 13 of the finest painters in the United States, artists currently represented by Miller Gallery as well as others we greatly admire.

Opening party is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 – 8 pm. Miller Gallery is located in the heart of Hyde Park Square at 2715 Erie Ave.

Originating in France in the mid-1800s through the end of the 19th century, Impressionism was, and remains, more an attitude, one of personal expression with a focus on the qualities of changing light, everyday subject matter, and a simplification and softening of detail.

Figurative, landscape and still-life works are included in this group show, featuring the work of Pang Jen, Tom Bluemlein, Hugh O’Neill, Ellen Diamond, John Michael Carter, Gregory Frank Harris, Ron Hicks, Jeff Legg, C.W. Mundy, Steve W. Seltzer, Chris Thomas, Kathy Anderson, and Zhaoming Wu.

The Gallery’s winter hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 – 5.30; Sunday, 11 – 2.  Closed Monday.
