CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Public Library is partnering with SCORE Counselors to America’s Small Business, to offer “Your Business: It Starts With a Plan,” a free three-part series of instructional workshops Saturdays, May 11, 18 and 25, at the Main Library.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Are you a new or prospective business owner? Would you like assistance and advice on starting and running your business, including how to write a business plan? If so, then plan to attend “Your Business: It Starts With a Plan,” a free three-part series of instructional workshops conducted by specialists from SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business.

Gateway, McHale's Jointly Showcase Downtown Covington Expansion

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19)  — Gateway Community and Technical College and McHale’s Events and Catering are opening the doors to their new facilities at Odd Fellows Hall with a public reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at The Grand/Historic Odd Fellows Hall.

The event marks the kick-off of Gateway’s new Instructional Design and Learning (IDL) Technology associate degree program, the first of its kind in the nation. Guests will be able to visit the building’s fourth floor for an introduction to IDL as well as the college’s Visual Communications program, the Center for eLearning, and a tour of the innovative learning environment. These related disciplines intersect in preparing students for high-wage, high-demand jobs in information management fields.

Gateway Offers Manufacturing Skill Standards Training

 

Florence, Ky. (February 21, 2012) –Gateway Community and Technical College will offer the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) certified production technician (CPT) training April 8 through May 30 at its Boone Campus.

Presented by the college’s Workforce Solutions Division, this training teaches skills highly valued by local manufacturers. The MSSC program is intended to certify people who master the core competencies of front-line manufacturing. The training consists of individual certificate modules in safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness.

Full CPT certification and three hours of college credit are available to those successfully complete the training and associated testing. CPT certification can open job opportunities in manufacturing.

The Gateway course will be offered Mondays through Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m.

'Tax Exemption: 501 (C) (3) and What It Means' seminar at Main Library

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The seminar “Tax Exemption: 501 (C) (3) and What It Means” will review the process by which a nonprofit organization obtains 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and the federal and state laws impact on such organizations.

The specific focus will be on corporate organization, state and federal filing requirements and the legal obligations that are imposed. This seminar will provide the general “lay of the land” so that individuals can become comfortable with this important topic and determine whether or not any areas of concern should receive additional attention.

The question-and-answer section can provide additional depth for nonprofit organizations more familiar with tax-exempt issues.

Public Library offers Entrepreneur Express program, SCORE workshops

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Learn about the Library’s small business online resources with the Entrepreneur Express Spring 2013 program. Topics covered include how to access full-text business plans, demographic data, competitor listings and even potential customer lists. Also in attendance will be a SCORE counselor to assist you with your practical questions on starting and running a small business.
