Gateway Offers Manufacturing Skill Standards Training | Business
Florence, Ky. (February 21, 2012) –Gateway Community and Technical College will offer the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) certified production technician (CPT) training April 8 through May 30 at its Boone Campus.
Presented by the college’s Workforce Solutions Division, this training teaches skills highly valued by local manufacturers. The MSSC program is intended to certify people who master the core competencies of front-line manufacturing. The training consists of individual certificate modules in safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness.
Full CPT certification and three hours of college credit are available to those successfully complete the training and associated testing. CPT certification can open job opportunities in manufacturing.
The Gateway course will be offered Mondays through Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the college’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing at 500 Technology Way in Florence. The training is a mixture of classroom instruction and web-based learning. Certification testing will be scheduled during the course at the Gateway Assessment Center in the same building.
