Suspected Hyde Park flasher appears in court | News
HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19)- A man was in court on Friday for flashing people in Hyde Park.
Police say Darnell Dukes, 35, of Avondale admitted to exposing himself to female joggers in the Hyde Park Square area during the summer and fall of 2011.
Officers say that in the early morning hours, a flasher would expose himself to the victims. In at least one instance, the man masturbated in front of a woman. In another, he slapped a woman on the behind as she jogged past him.
According to a police report, the offenses happened between August and October of 2011 throughout Hyde Park, including Observatory, Shaw, Erie, Zumstein and Linwood Avenue.
Since 2011, police have received multiple reports of a man targeting female joggers in the Hyde Park Square area. In 2012, reports were made of a similar situation. Police released a sketch of the 2012 suspect, but have not connected the two cases at this time.
On Monday afternoon, Dukes turned himself in to Cincinnati police. He was charged with six counts of indecent exposure, a first degree misdemeanor.
Dukes is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. His bond was set at $30,000 during his arraignment on Tuesday.
His next appearance in court will be a pre-trial hearing on January 24th.
