Representative Driehaus to meet with local residents in Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - Representative Denise Driehaus will host district office hours on Saturday, February 23, to meet with local residents and discuss legislative issues important to the region.

The meeting will take place at the Coffee Emporium in Hyde park from 9:30am - 11am.

Coffee Emporium is located at 3316 Erie Avenue.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - While the nation is waiting on results from Tuesday's election, early results in a much sweeter presidential poll have already been counted.

Busken Bakery's Presidential cookie poll shows President Barack Obama in the lead over Governor Mitt Romney. As of 11 am on  Tuesday, 15,362 Obama cookies have been sold and 13,447 Romney.

Busken's President and CEO, Dan Busken says that final results will not come out until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - The Hyde Park Hitching Post jelly bean presidental poll closed on Sunday November 4, at 3:00pm. Over six weeks, a total of 3,064 guests participated by dropping jelly beans into mason jars.

At the end of voting, President Barack Obama had 1590 votes and Governor Mitt Romney had 1474 votes. The jelly bean poll placed Obama over Romney, 51.9% to 48.1%.

Frank Kahsar owner of the Hyde Park Hitching Post says “I believe this poll will accurately predict the next President”. His belief is that Hitching Post has a very diverse cross section of patrons from blue collar to upper income white collar, and this is an accurate representation of the general population.

The jelly bean poll accurately predicted the winner of the 2008 election.

HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - Hitching Post restaurant in Hyde Park has been conducting their own presidential election with jelly beans.

Hitching Post reported that President Obama jumped ahead this week with 58.2% of the votes to Govervor Romney’s 41.8%. There has not been more than a 5% lead for either candidate since the beginning of the Fork Over Your Vote Poll.

The jelly bean poll predicted the winner of the 2008 election.

The Fork Over Your Vote 2012 Poll is being conducted by independent restaurant owners across the country, you can view the national results state by state at www.forkoveryourvote.com.

Hitching Post Hyde Park is located on Madison Road across from the Shell gas station.

MT. LOOKOUT, OH (FOX19) -Issue 4 opponents gathered in Mt. Lookout and Hyde Park to hand out literature and yard signs on Monday night.

The Vote No on Issue 4 campaign, Citizens for Accountability in Government, had volunteers getting the word out about the issue. They say Issue 4 is a self-serving Cincinnati charter Amendment to give council members more pay and longer job security.

Issue 4 will be on the Nov. 6 ballot for Cincinnati voters. If passed, it would increase the term limit for City Council members from two to four years.

Major project will alter the roads around 71 and Ridge

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The City of Cincinnati will begin construction and infrastructure work on the Kennedy Connector project on Monday, May 21.  The project in Oakley will affect people traveling around the area where Oakley, Kennedy Heights, Columbia Township and Madisonville meet, likely affecting some motorists from Norwood, Pleasant Ridge and Hyde Park as well.

The first phase of construction will begin at two locations of the project area.

Beginning Monday morning, Ibsen Avenue will be closed between Marburg Avenue and Ridge Road.  Ibsen will be open on weekends on Saturday afternoons through Sunday afternoons.
